On Saturday, August 24 at approximately 7:50am, while biking on the Peninsula, Jon collided with another cyclist who had apparently stopped. Though we're still piecing together the story, we know that Jon remembered his dad's cell phone number and Elizabeth's name and from there the police were able to alert the family. He was taken to Stanford Medical Center with a broken number 7 vertebrae and major brain trauma. Despite his serious condition, he's made great progress so far.
